In Washington State, health insurance companies are required to cover the services of licensed midwives (and all licensed health care providers in the state).  Community Midwives will bill your insurance, and are currently working towards becoming preferred providers with many local plans. 

 

We contract with a medical biller who specializes in midwifery care.  As part of their service, they will contact your insurance company at the beginning of your care.  They will find out how much of your care is likely to be covered by your insurance.

 

We also accept DSHS coupons.  Washington State has excellent public health care plans for pregnant women with no other source of health insurance.  The income limits for these programs are generally higher than for other social service programs.  Community Midwives would be happy to help you connect with these services, should you require them.

 

 

For any balance due to Community Midwives, we can arrange a payment plan prior to your birth.
